The Tower and the Wall

September 2, 2009

Rising tall, beside a wall,
Toweréd a tower red.
Thrust heavenward,
Words it adored,
And did call, day, night and all.

Short and curt, the wall did girt
Tower tall, and they did brawl,
The wall to hush
The tower flush,
And convert, or hurt its blurt.

Yet tow’r tall, rebuff’d the wall,
Shouted out to tout the bout.
The wall did fume,
Tower resume,
To recall, words did enthrall.

Behind the Rhyme.
